BetMGM has announced that it will launch sports betting in Tennessee on November 1.
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said:
“We’ve been eagerly working with regulators in Tennessee to make this momentous launch a possibility and look forward to introducing the state’s passionate fan bases to the excitement of betting on sports with BetMGM. Our relationship with MGM Resorts enables BetMGM users in the Volunteer State to earn rewards, from hotel suites to dinners at award-winning restaurants, all while engaging in the excitement of our cutting-edge sports betting experience.”
The BetMGM Tennessee app and desktop sportsbook will integrate directly with MGM Resorts’ M Life Rewards program, allowing Tennessee bettors to “translate their gameplay into world-class experiences at iconic resort properties.”
Tennessee will be the seventh state in which BetMGM operates sports betting, following Colorado, West Virginia, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, and Indiana sports betting.
A Titanic Partnership
In September 2020, BetMGM announced a landmark deal with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans. As part of the deal, BetMGM gets access to Titans digital assets and “key in-game moments’ including replays, field goal attempts, and more.
BetMGM is also sponsoring a Titans raffle that benefits the Titans Foundation. The organization helps fund community organizations in Tennessee.
In the initial announcement, Gil Beverly, Titans Sr. Vice President, Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer, said: “BetMGM will deliver new experiences and levels of engagement to our fans and we’re excited to welcome them in as an official partner.”
A Unique Sports Betting Landscape
Tennessee is inherently different from other sports-betting-friendly states in that it only allows online sportsbooks. With no casinos to serve as license tethers for online operators, the state instead opted to allow online-only licenses.
As of this writing, four operators have licenses to offer sports betting in Tennessee:
- BetMGM
- DraftKings
- FanDuel
- Action 24/7
The first three likely come as no surprise to sports bettors. Action 247 is an up-and-coming sportsbook headquartered in Nashville. The in-state operator will have a shot to compete against the big-name operators come November.
