Man, the news in Nashville has not been positive or uplifting as of late. I know people criticize the news for being a cesspool of negativity to begin with, but damn y’all….it feels like the last few months have been especially bad. I have nothing good to write about unless we make a dramatic shift at SoBros Network and just start depressing people, too. I don’t know – but, we’ve got a story today that really pissed me off. Some old fucker burned down an old Piggly Wiggly because some homeless folks were occupying it.
A 61-year-old man set fire to a closed grocery store next to his East Nashville home over the weekend because several homeless people were living inside, an arrest warrant alleges.
Wow – crazy much? This isn’t even ‘small dick energy.’ This is like ‘shriveled dick energy.’
I don’t even like using the word ‘psycho’ because it’s often used incorrectly, and there’s probably a legitimate and specific ailment that could be referenced instead. But, we don’t call things ‘schizo’ or ‘socio’ so FML. I know – OCD, but you get what I’m saying, right? Anyway, my point is that I feel like the term ‘psycho’ is appropriate in this situation.
It’s psycho – an all time psycho move. Like….I can’t imagine what clicks in an individual’s head to go from “these homeless people are living here” to “better burn the sumbitch to the ground.”
You know how if you actually stop and listen to homeless people, you’ll likely hear a story about how others treat them as though they’re not human? This is an example of homeless people being treated as if they’re not human. More often than not, they just want some food and they want someone to talk to. At least, that’s my experience from when I worked downtown.
I know this might sound crazy, but maybe we should be finding ways to actually help the homeless instead of burning down the empty buildings they’re occupying? Just a wild idea, I know…
On top of all of this, this lunatic had to go and defile the good name of Piggly Wiggly. Unbelievable – the balls on this man. Is nothing sacred anymore?
Whatever happened to Piggly Wiggly? Are there any still in the area? I used to love that shit in Mount Juliet. A solid selection of groceries at affordable prices. That was the name of the game. That pig became a symbol that signified the spirit of the working class.
This man burned that down? He should prepare for a war with the working class. The fine folks of Tennessee will NOT accept this act of treason against Piggly Wiggly.
