Look, we review a lot of completely ordinary bar food on this site, and that is (mostly) by design – equal parts shining a light on average food for the average Joe, and honestly, me just thinking it’s funny to call myself a food reviewer, and then post a video of me eating turkey flavored Pringles. I know. I’m weird. But, I’m telling you – the food scene in Nashville is creative and expansive. It’s worth getting out of your routine of hot chicken, burgers, and wings from time to time. Hell, I dare say enjoy a nice date night somewhere different with your s/o and liven things up a bit. Broaden your culinary horizons, you swine.

I didn’t mean that – I’m just getting carried away trying to act like a cultured human being here. What I’m getting at is that there are creative kitchens and nice dining rooms all over town. Hathorne (Instagram profile here) is such a place nestled over in the blossoming Sylvan Park area. I’m east of town (Mount Juliet), so I don’t make it over to that side of the Music City nearly often enough, but it is one of my favorite parts of town. And, after the culinary crossover event of the spring was passed along to me by a close friend of the site, I just might have to make a special trip out there. The “Middle Eastern/Texan Pop-Up” Jewish Cowboy (Instagram profile here) is running their next pop-up event in collaboration with Hathorne on April 18th, 2021.

Join Chef Wes Scoggins of Jewish Cowboy as he presents a menu of Middle Eastern-Jewish-Texas style creations in the beautiful setting of Hathorne. Order a la carte and pair it with a tasty drink from Beverage Director Hayley Teague.

Just be aware: reservations are going pretty quickly according to Hathorne’s Instagram page, so be sure and call to get a table as quick as you can, if you’re so inclined. They’re also running a limited amount of carryout on the night of as well. So, if you can’t get a table, keep an ear to the ground so you’re prepared for this menu. Because, holy shit….it is a M-E-N-U.

My source on this event has reported: “I can guarantee itll be some good shit lol.”
