Yoooooooo – last week was my BEST week since going 4-1 in the first week of college football season. I’m only a couple of good weeks away from .500. I can’t believe it. I was on a teeeerrible tear there for a few weeks including an 0-6 butt-romp one week. In the process I thought about butt-chugging a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, I shaved part of my head, and I threw one of my shoes off the Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville. Just really erratic behavior but nothing too out-of-line with how most people who pick sports games handle adversity.
Now, things are turning up. In fact, I’m so confident in my picks now that I’m about to go take out a payday loan for some money to put down on a brand new Volkswagen. Can’t wait! I’m sure some of the sportsbooks in Vegas are already looking me up to offer me a job. Things are on a major uptick, so let’s get after it.
Big Natural’s Picks
NFL: Los Angeles +2.5 New York Jets – I know both of these teams are bordering on the hot mess express, but there’s no way I’m confidently taking the Jets -2.5 against any team in the NFL not named the Cleveland Browns. Especially against a team that can run the ball and control the clock.
NCAAF: Navy +1 vs. Tulsa – the Golden Hurricane hype is legit – in fact, if the season ended today, they’d be in the American Conference Championship. But, I don’t see them hanging around with Navy. I’m all Midshipmen here.
NFL: Atlanta PICK Philadelphia – Sure, the Eagles are still a pretty good team. It’s hard to imagine them throwing away so many games in a row, but the Falcons are CLEARLY the better team….one of the favorites in the NFC race. You can get ’em at a pick ’em? TAKE IT!
NCAAF: Texas A&M-Ole Miss, OVER 55 – Sure, both quarterbacks are toast, but I don’t care. This ‘en is going to be a shoot-out.
NFL: Chicago-Tampa Bay, OVER 46 – Both of these teams don’t play defense very well. Tampa Bay has shown they can score some points with the Jameis Winston-Mike Evans connection, and if the Bears utilize Jordan Howard the way they did against Minnesota, this could be 35-28 type of game.
NFL: San Diego -4 Miami – the Chargers are a good team. Miami is heading in the right direction, but I don’t think they’re going to stop a Melvin Gordon who has ransacked the NFL the last three weeks.
NCAAF: Troy PICK vs. Appalachian State – Our weekly dip into the Fun Belt! This is the de facto Sun Belt Championship, and I think it’s the Trojans’ to lose. They’ve been the best team in the Sun Belt all season and you’re telling me there’s no spread to cover? They just have to win? Yeah, I’ll take it.
NFL: New York Giants -1.5 Cincinnati – Do any of you trust the Bengals this season? Nah….didn’t think so. The Giants are making a playoff push – big day for Eli coming. Book it.
Interesting Lines
NCAAF: Baylor-Oklahoma, O/U 80 – I know Interesting Lines hasn’t been around in a bit. Been more of a balls to the wall approach, so I’ve just been calling games instead of shying away. I just wanted to point out how ridiculous these O/Us are getting in the Big 12. 80 points?!?!? EIGHTY POINTS! And the sad thing is, I was tempted to take the over here. Crazy.
