I once said, “it could be harder to go 0-16 than 16-0.” I’m positive I’m the only man whose ever said that, so you guys be on the look out for phonies trying to steal my brain. I mean, the NFL is still the NFL, right? It’s still a league full of the most talented American football players on the planet. Anything can happen on any given Sunday, and all of that.
Well, for the Cleveland Browns, they’ve found a way to bottom out to 0-12. Not that Browns are particularly surprised, I’m sure. You ask them if they watched Sunday’s game, and all you get is an eye twitch in return. They’re jaded beyond belief, and rightfully so. If that was my team, I’d be pissed, numb, depressed, whatever.
But, thankfully, the Chris McNeils of the world are out there spinning every negative into a positive….

Chris McNeil created an event on Facebook last month for the “Browns Perfect Season Parade.”
On Wednesday, McNeil met with Cleveland city officials to turn what started as a joke into a reality. The steering committee meeting included about 20 people from different city departments like police and fire.
He said he received good feedback and everyone seemed open to the idea. A private security firm has been retained for the event and most permits have been filed.
McNeil said the parade will likely happen, unless the Browns win a game. More than 4,300 users said they are going to the Jan. 7 celebration around FirstEnergy Stadium. The route originally created a zero and 16, but has been changed to minimize any disruption to the Great Lakes Science Center.
Cleveland is 0-12 heading into their game on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.”
You can do it, Brownies! I actually would’ve predicted Cleveland to win this game, but then those pesky Bengals came out and absolutely smashed a pretty decent Philadelphia team 32-14 last week. The Browns have the Bengals, Bills, Chargers, and Steelers left. Honestly, Browns fans – if you survive this weekend without getting a win, I think you’re in the clear.
And, then – boy…the Cavs win the NBA Championship, the Indians make it to the World Series, and the Browns have a perfect season. What a time to be alive in Cleveland!
Just when we thought Cleveland sports were cursed, we’re reminded that Cleveland sports were just a sleeping juggernaut. The Browns are certainly doing their part.
If Chris McNeil can get the city of Cleveland to agree to this parade, maybe he can also get the Browns an invitation to compete in the Peach Bowl.
