Just a PSA from the fine folks here at the SoBros Network – Memorial Day weekend is coming up. I’m pretty sure in the United States Constitution, it pegs Memorial Day as the unofficial start of summer. But, it’s best to always remember the potential dangers of the summer barbecue.
You can consume too much alcohol in the heat and pass out. You can eat too much at the grill and shit in the pool. You can spend too much time in the sun and have your baby skin burnt to oblivion. Or, your boy can chuck a fucking keg across the back lawn and it’s lights out before you know it.
Concussion city.
It’s easy to feel bad for the guy in this video – his back was turned to the action the entire time, while he was trying to chat up that woman. But, that was just his first mistake. You can’t be in that sort of environment and trying to enjoy the peaceful serenity of the woods. You have to avoid the deceiving charm of a woman and always be facing the party. If he was facing the other direction, he would’ve seen his boy winding up, and damn – when you see that shit happening, you know it’s time to get the hell out of dodge.
What’s not acceptable in this video is the guy in the beach hat – he saw the windup, he could’ve guided his friend to safety, but he didn’t. Just sat back and watched the whole thing happen. Probably mad at the guy for talking to the woman.
That’s why I ultimately stand with the dude throwing the keg. That’s a guy who gets what summer is all about. Reckless abandonment and pure fun. He’s obviously not there to get laid, he’s obviously not there to have meaningful conversations. He’s there to lower his inhibitions, experience the true freedom of summer, and maybe cause one of his buddies to black out. Seriously, that was all skull – kid probably has no memory of this happening.
Still, the main message here is to stay safe out there this summer, America.
