Hell Yeah Let’s Open a Door to a Parallel Universe

The idea of a ‘parallel universe’ has long since been the subject of popular science fiction. But, unless you’re a physicist, that idea ain’t much more than science fiction. Thankfully, physicists like Leah Broussard exist to pick up the slack for those of who are too busy wasting our lives to do something important like accessing the mirror dimension.

At Oak Ridge National Laboratory in eastern Tennessee, physicist Leah Broussard is trying to open a portal to a parallel universe.

She calls it an “oscillation” that would lead her to “mirror matter,” but the idea is fundamentally the same. In a series of experiments she plans to run at Oak Ridge this summer, Broussard will send a beam of subatomic particles down a 50-foot tunnel, past a powerful magnet and into an impenetrable wall. If the setup is just right — and if the universe cooperates — some of those particles will transform into mirror-image versions of themselves, allowing them to tunnel right through the wall. And if that happens, Broussard will have uncovered the first evidence of a mirror world right alongside our own.

“It’s pretty wacky,” Broussard says of her mind-bending exploration.

I don’t give a single fuckin’ fuck if this is like EXACTLY how Stranger Things started. That doesn’t scare me at all – the risk is most definitely worth the reward. I know it seems scary, but I’m pretty sure you could enlist the SoBros team to take down a Demogorgon. That’s what I’m here willing to say – y’all don’t worry about that. We got this. So, with the Demogorgon neutralized (again, thanks to the SoBros team), there is literally no reason NOT to do this.

Leah Broussard, we got your back.

How cool would it be to be Ant-Man? Haven’t you guys ever wondered that? I think about it all day most days. Well, guess what – Leah’s work is the first step towards us all becoming Ant-Man. Going subatomic and exploring the Quantum Realm, bitches! That’s what this thing is all about.

Guys, I just got an idea – right in the middle of writing this. Let’s form a group and make sure we’re the first ones to go down and live in the mirror universe. I’m sure that’s how science works. Leah’s going to send some stuff into a new dimension, it’s going to work, and then we’re going to move straight to human trials. I want to be there for it. Put me on the first ship.

Oak Ridge is weird as hell, by the way. It’s just kinda there, and no one really knows what actually goes there. They could be developing super soldiers for all we know. I mean, they’re trying to open up a portal to a new universe, ffs. It’s kind of cool that all of this is going down in Tennessee, though. All it would take is one scientific experiment getting loose for middle Tennessee to turn into a real life comic book.

Also, let me be the first to say that Leah Broussard is getting an automatic SoBro of the Year nomination if she can successfully bring the Demogorgon to Tennessee. Also also, in all seriousness, I sincerely hope we can gain access to another dimension within my lifetime. That would be so sick. I want to vacation in the mirror universe.
