Breaking: People Like Having Their Meetings in Nashville

When you think about the Music City, I don’t know that you think “conference mecca” of the South. But, that’s exactly what the city’s becoming as more companies are having big meetings in Nashville. Here we go again – another thing we can add to our resumé as an emerging it city.

Courtesy of Music Row (.com):

Nashville ranked sixth on the 2019 list of cities considered the most outstanding meeting destinations in the U.S. by Cvent, a global meetings management company. This is Nashville’s highest ranking on the list since Music City broke into the Top 10 at No. 10 in 2014.

Cvent determines top destinations around the world based on booking activity through the company’s venue sourcing sites. Over 11,000 global cities were evaluated based on activity for the 2018 calendar year, and a list of the Top 50 U.S. cities was selected from that information. The rankings are based on factors that include the number of requests for proposals cities receive and are awarded, the number of hotel room nights booked and the percentage of qualified meeting venues.

Well, DUH! Have you ever been here? Where else are you going to see a bus full of male strippers and women’s ankles up in the air pull up next to you? Real talk – my buddies flew in from the west coast a few weeks ago and were blown away by the Nashville Party Bus. That’s just NashVegas, baby!

Where else are you going to find talented musicians on every street corner? Where else are you going to see people puking in the middle of the street on a damn Tuesday afternoon? That’s NashVegas, baby!

I can’t think of a more professional setting!

We’ll never beat out Orlando and Las Vegas, but hey – I could see us pulling up into the top three before it’s all said and done.

Also, what’s it say about our current society that we have to have our work trips in places like Vegas and Nashville? Are we so repressed and jaded by work that we have to take every chance we get to go somewhere like this? Like, why can’t we go somewhere cheaper, y’all? South Bend, Indiana is as quiet as it gets. Do we hate our lives that much that we’re JUMPING at the opportunity to go to Orlando?

I’ll get off my soapbox now, and go to my ordinary day job right here in the Music-Healthcare-Bachelorette Party-Pedal Tavern-Conference City!!!
