Corey Davis’ Top Plays of 2017 Reveal He Is Indeed a Grown Ass Man

In case you were wondering, Corey Davis is a GROWN ASS MAN. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like all of this talk about Odell Beckham, Jr. is just ludicrous nonsense. I’ve been beating the drum that the Tennessee Titans are just fine at wide receiver all offseason. Could they add another weapon? Sure. But, this unit is young, deep, and talented. Recently, the NFL tweeted out a highlight package of Davis’ best plays of the 2017 season. I can’t say that I necessarily disagree.

It’s just absurd. Davis is so physically and athletically gifted. He is absolutely what you look for in a cornerstone wide receiver. But, I see so much negative talk on Titans Twitter/Facebook about how the team doesn’t have a true #1 receiver. Still. Critics are going to say we didn’t see enough of that #84 over the course of the season, and maybe that’s fair to a certain extent. But, come on – that was his rookie season. We’ve been spoiled by that 2014 wide receiver class, ‘member? How quickly we forget that not every rookie wide receiver comes in and immediately puts up 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns.

But, this unit as a whole is going to be very good. They all have such unique skills. Davis is that #1, complete type of receiver you look for. Rishard Matthews is a reliable, feisty guy who’s going to catch a ton of balls. Taywan Taylor is a shifty guy who can burn defensive backs. And, Tajae Sharpe is one of the best natural route runners we’ve seen join the Titans recently.

This group hasn’t quite put it all together yet, but that’s a hell of a group if they can get things clicking. And, that’s not even factoring in Delanie Walker or Jonnu Smith at tight end. So, to say the Titans are in dire need of a playmaker….I just don’t get it. But, maybe that’s why I’m sitting here writing blogs instead of drafting football players.

Regardless, you can’t help but admire the strong, capable play of Davis. He’s definitely made some sick highlight reel catches. He is the quintessential grown ass man football player. But, just because he didn’t light up the league in year one doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. The sky’s the limit with this kid, so how about we check in in a year or two before calling him a bust, k?
