Suggested NXT Call-ups After Wrestlemania 34

It’s Wrestlemania week! And, while the wrestling world is talking about all of the epic encounters scheduled for this absolutely stacked show on Sunday, we’re going to be talking about one of the most fun aspects of Wrestlemania season today. That’s right – we’re talking about the inevitable NXT call-ups that happen on the Monday and Tuesday following the Granddaddy of ‘Em All.

Every year, there’s a new crop of talent that gets the promotion from WWE’s developmental brand to the main roster. It’s one of the reasons the Raw after Wrestlemania (and apparently now the SmackDown after Wrestlemania as well) is must-watch television. I’ve taken the liberty of pointing out a few names that should or could be popping up on the USA Network sooner rather than later.

Who Should Get the Call-up after Wrestlemania 34?

The Authors of Pain

Both brands could use some depth in the tag team division. The Authors of Pain have been so dominant for so long that there’s not much left for them to do on the yellow brand. I would be willing to bet that these guys are an absolute lock for a call-up after ‘Mania. Paul Ellering has to come, too, though.

Ember Moon

It’s hard to see where Moon fits in on the main roster right now. There doesn’t seem to be an opening for a ‘cornerstone’ type of piece with Asuka and Charlotte Flair dominating SmackDown Live and Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax being the focal point of Raw’s Women’s Division. That said, she’s been that piece for NXT for far too long. I think it may be a while before she’s competing for main roster titles, but she’s definitely ready.

The Iconic Duo

I don’t know if WWE just likes having Billie Kay and Peyton Royce in their current role on NXT or what, but they’ve long been rumored for a call-up. It’s long overdue, too. We haven’t seen a duo of women this entertaining and talented since the days of Lay-Cool.

Andrade “Cien” Almas

Talk about a momentum shift. Almas went from being rumored (source: Alberto Del Rio tho) to wanting out of WWE to being one of NXT’s greatest characters and champions. Almas could use a little bit longer as champion, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him drop the title this weekend and be on Raw Monday night.

Johnny Gargano

Is Gargano really the next Daniel Bryan? Only one way to find out. It’s time. And, please…he’s one of the best wrestlers on the planet right now. I know 205 Live has improved immensely since it’s been under the direction of Triple H. But, let’s see what Johnny Wrestling can do on one of the main shows.

SAnitY

Eric Young, Nikki Cross, Alexander Wolfe, Killian Dain, the whole shebang – bring ’em all up. They’re not too different from the Authors of Pain in the sense that they’ve been dominant for quite a bit of time. Along with AOP, they’ve been a staple of the tag team division and main event scene for a couple of years now. It’s time.
