Trent Dilfer is one of my unquestioned favorite TV dudes. I mean, the guy can break down the game with the best of ’em, and his analysis is always interesting. Plus, you throw in Dilfer’s Dimes, and the guy is just a walking, talking electric factory. To this day, I maintain that he is the best worst quarterback to win a Super Bowl in NFL history. He’s that damn good. Well, recently he hopped on The SDS Podcast to talk about Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, among other SEC quarterbacks. If you’re anything like me, you are undoubtedly shocked by how much he likes Tua.

Man, and here I was thinking I was a big fan of Tua’s work? You’ve got Trent Dilfer out here saying Alabama could go undefeated for the next 2-3 years with Tua at the helm. Not just that they’re going to win every game, but that they’re going to be beating people 50-3 in the process! Holy shit – talk about a lofty projection. Now, I know – this wasn’t an official prediction. I didn’t see anywhere that he pinky swore on it, so it’s going to be easy for him to get out of it.
But, you don’t hear too many media guys going out on a limb like this. So, I applaud him for it. And, yeah – the bottom line is that Tua’s going to be fuckin’ good at the football for the next few seasons.
He is a rare talent, and if that National Championship game is any indication of things to come, us Alabama fans are in for one hell of a ride. Tua can make all of the throws, make moves with his legs, and looks the part of an elite quarterback, not just in the SEC, but potentially in the NFL, too. No qualms with him basically being the Goldberg of the SEC for the next few years.
In the spirit of being an honest, genuine journalist just like my man Trent Dilfer, I’m going to look into my own crystal ball here and say that the Tennessee Titans will win the next three Super Bowls with Terry Bradshaw at quarterback.
