Shout Out to the Municipal Auditorium for Still Being Relevant in 2018

Big day in Nashville as the head honcho DJT45 is coming to town to yell about something to a bunch of people for a while. It’s actually going to be a nightmare because it’s going to make Nashville traffic, which is already terrible to begin with, much worse. But, whatever – the biggest shocker of the whole thing is that Trump is going to be speaking at the Municipal Auditorium.

President Donald Trump will once again be making his way to Nashville–this time for a public rally and private fundraising event for Representative Marsha Blackburn.

President Trump hopes to boost Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn in the open contest to replace GOP Senator Bob Corker, who is retiring.

Trump will raise cash for Blackburn at a Nashville fundraiser Tuesday, then hold a public rally at Nashville Municipal Auditorium. Sen. Bob Corker and Sen. Lamar Alexander will attend the fundraiser and rally with President Trump in Nashville, their spokespersons confirm.

Can we just give a quick shout out to the damned Municipal Auditorium? I mean, holy shit – this thing was a veritable mecca of entertainment throughout my childhood in the 90s, but at a certain point, I thought it closed down.

Why would we need another large entertainment venue? We have Bridgestone Arena…now Ascend Amphitheater, too. There’s the huge convention center, and about a million other venues around town.

But, nope – you guessed it, folks. The Municipal Auditorium simply will not go quietly into the night.

Seriously, I hadn’t heard the name ‘Municipal Auditorium’ since 2007 TNA Slammiversary, when I watched Frank Wycheck wrestle. Four years pass before I end up drunk in my swimming trunks at a Ke$ha and LMFAO show there. Now, here we are and the fuckin’ President of the United States of America is appearing at a rally at the Municipal Auditorium there.

Unbelievable.

I mean, it’s not quite like getting In Your House 1995 back in the building, but it’s pretty damn big.

And, maybe all of this is a shock to me because I just generally don’t pay attention to things, but I’m just so happy for the Municipal Auditorium. Just wanted to give those folks a YUGE shout out for being the (dusty and old) staple of the Music City that it is. Now, enjoy sitting in traffic for the next eight hours, Nashville.
