There’s a lot of meat on this story, so let’s just get to the details. This Nashville con man has been ON ONE.
George David George, 64, will spend the next 20 years in federal prison.
First cue that something’s off – I can’t think of a faker sounding name than George George. This guy was destined to be a con man. They should have locked him up in kindergarten.
Judge Bill Wilson handed down the sentence in federal court Monday after hearing testimony about new crimes George committed while on the run from the law over the last two years.
Prosecutors called witnesses that revealed “a swath of crime and deceit across the Southeastern United States.”
His deceit ended in Florida after George claimed to be a Harvard educated doctor and gave pills to a 16 year old boy he treated for depression.
The 16 year old’s mother testified via video from Florida that she thought George was a psychiatrist.
George had stolen a man’s identity in Huntsville, Alabama and opened a doctor’s office near Jacksonville called Beach Family Therapy.
The 16 year old wound up in the emergency room after taking the pills that George gave to him.
George was scheduled to go to trial back in 2017 for stealing nearly $3 million from investors in Brentwood.
But before his trail began, he cut off his ankle monitoring bracelet and fled to Houston, Texas.
He used fake IDs, changed his name and opened a stock trading business.
Jennifer Newby testified that she answered an ad on Craig’s List and became an assistant to George.
She had no idea her new boss was a fugitive on the run from the law.
He later scammed Newby and some of her friends out of money and left Houston.
Another woman who testified on Monday said she George met on a dating website after he moved to Florida.
She said she fell in love with him and they moved in together.
She thought he was a psychiatrist and she asked for help with the medication she was receiving for depression.
Who the fuck is this man of mystery!?!?!?
Y’know, they portrayed Frank Abagnale as this charismatic playboy in Catch Me If You Can, but I don’t remember him doing anything vicious like feeding a teenager pills. That’s shitty – this guy is a shithead.
Let’s just run through this real quick – he stole $3M from investors in Brentwood, pretended to be a doctor, opened a stock trading business, bamboozled some poor woman to fall in love with him. He’s been on the move from Nashville to Huntsville to Houston to Florida.
Yeah – shitty Frank Abagnale. That checks out. But, y’know – kinda looks like if Frank Abagnale was trying to sell you a used 1998 Pontiac and casually did meth on the weekends.
I just wonder what the end goal was in giving the kid pills – like….how did he think that was going to end? Either A) the kid dies, and then you’re fucked or B) the kid doesn’t die, and everyone realizes you’re NOT a doctor. Dumbass play there, George George.
The fake IDs, fake stock trading company, and tricking someone into falling in love with you – those are just your run of the mill con man activities. I’m willing to let those go and watch a feature film about them in 10 years.
But, giving a kid who is already struggling with depression pills and sending him to the emergency room? That’s where I draw the line.
George George, you’re a piece of shit. Enjoy your prison lunches.
