Couldn’t get to this news yesterday because of the day job taking precedence, but I had a few moments this morning before the day got going, so I figured I had to weigh in. This is my home land, people…Wilson County, Tennessee! I graduated from Wilson Central in 2004….I’m 33 years old…and hot damn, I never thought I’d see the day that some dude would stroll up in a Wilson County court room and just light up a joint like it was nothing. But, here we are.
#SCOOP: Spencer Boston, 20, appeared in court today on a marijuana charge, pulled out a joint, lit it, and took about 6 hits while discussing marijuana laws in front of Judge Haywood Barry. He was then taken into custody. #WilsonCo pic.twitter.com/oAWF8vAjRS

Haha! What a ‘Spencer’ move. Classic Spencer!
First of all, I look at that happy, smiling face and I think, “boy, there’s no way THAT guy did anything wrong….look how happy he is!” He is the quintessential ‘silly goose.’ Go on and get in the pond then if you wanna be a lil silly goose.
That mean old judge taking away his freedoms for something silly like a marijuana possession. I guarantee that mean ol’ judge was a little bit nicer, a little bit more relaxed, after our boy Spencer here huffed and puffed on his joint and left a cloud of smoke in his trail as he was being toted off to jail.
Okay, but in all seriousness, I’m kinda glad someone made a stand like this. Is that what he intended to do? Or, was he just high as hell? Who knows?! But, the conversation on social media, from what I’ve seen, is more about what a hero this guy is and it seems like it actually sparked a bit of debate about reforming marijuana laws. There were a few old curmudgeons voicing their opinions about how the world is going to hell and all that, but old people have been saying that for years.
I commend the move, Spencer, but it’s also easy for me to do since I’m not the one going to jail.
It’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off.
PS. I see you, Jason. Out there getting the SCOOP (see what I did there?) on this story. You’re the real MVP.
