The 2021 Tennessee Titans Schedule Has Been Released

The full schedule for the Titans 2021 season is out!

It’s a May tradition unlike any other – NFL schedule release night. Here we are. There’s hardly anything going on in the football world coming off the heels of the NFL Draft. We have at least two more months until training camp starts. Folks, we have to run with it, ’cause it’s all we’re going to get for a little bit. For the Tennessee Titans, they’ll begin their 2021 campaign at home vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

The priority this offseason was clearly to get better on defense. They signed Bud Dupree, Denico Autry, and Jackrabbit before spending their first round pick on Caleb Farley. The Titans were historically bad on third down, and had an anemic pass rush – the addition of Jim Schwartz as an analyst should help with that. The cost of this defensive focus may be a step down in talent on offense. The team couldn’t (or chose not to) re-sign Corey Davis or Jonnu Smith, two key cogs in their historic 2020 offense. But, if the team can get even a little bit better on defense, and if the offense only comes down a little, this will be a more well-rounded team, and the Titans will be better for it.

When you’re the reigning division champ, though, it means you get the league’s best from each division in your conference (Bills, Chiefs, and Steelers), and one from the other conference (Saints). Not to mention, they draw the NFC West this season, which is one of if not the most brutal division in the NFL. The road back to the AFC Championship isn’t going to be an easy one, folks. Let’s take a look at how 2021 is going to shake down for the Tennessee Titans.

Week 17: vs. Miami Dolphins, 1/2/22 at Noon
Week 18: @ Houston Texans, 1/9/22 at Noon

12 good, quality games on this schedule (and then two against the Jags, two against the Texans, and a road trip to play the Jets). But, of course, we should always keep in mind that we have NO IDEA how these teams are going to perform once the season starts. But, as it stands here in May, this looks like a pretty tough schedule.

Cards > Seahawks > Colts is a hell of a way to start the season. That match-up against Arizona could be an electric factory with points galore…same with the Seahawks, for that matter. That stretch of Bills > Chiefs > Colts > Rams > Saints looks impossible, and right now, looks like that’s probably going to be the toughest part of the season.

You absolutely love to see a Week 13 bye, and the games after it look manageable on paper. I’m not too scared of Pittsburgh just yet. The 49ers have the talent and coaching there to rebound quickly from 2020, and the Dolphins are a team on the rise. Both of those games should be interesting.
