Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question, from E on Instagram:
You gotta catch us up on your married life how is Bucky doing
Answer:
It’s been pretty nice, E. I went back to the day job, which I am increasingly growing frustrated with but not to the point that I’m actually looking for another day job yet, last Tuesday and put in a hectic couple of days before the holiday weekend. Otherwise, it’s been a blur. I’ve been in a funk the last couple of days because of it – something about the inevitable passing of time and how quickly it moves from moment to moment. Hell, I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since we picked up the maid of honor and our out-of-town wedding guests started arriving. But, I don’t want to be too depressing on an edition of the SoBros Mailbag.
Why it’s been nice – well, everyone seemed to have a good time at the wedding. We put two years into it between all the planning and crafting! To hear people tell us they had a wonderful time really made us feel like our hard work paid off. So, the event going off without a (real) hitch put us at peace a bit. There’s been less to worry about in that regard, too – so stress levels have drastically decreased overall. But, you know me – always have to be tinkering with something…planning something…so there is a bit of “now what?” going on in the household too.
We spent the holiday weekend on a mini-moon down in Chattanooga – we won’t be able to take the vacation time to go on a real honeymoon until 2023, so we decided to get away for a few days for ourselves in one of our favorite cities to do so in.
Now, it’s back to the real world, and it’s a matter of how quickly I can get back into a routine. I fear I’m going to be feeling the hangover from this high for days, maybe even weeks, to come.
Question:
Now that Winnie the Pooh is getting a horror film, what other children’s characters should get one?
— McCash (@MC_Cash75) May 26, 2022
Give me a murderous 3 Little Pigs
Answer:
Okay, okay – hear me out on this one…..the gang from Scooby-Doo somewhere in the Saw franchise.
Question, from Tyler on Facebook:
Who’s winning the NBA championship and why is it the Celtics?
Answer:
Man, I’ve seen people complain about this year’s NBA playoffs, calling it ‘boring’ and ‘uninteresting.’ But, I’ve loved it. I’m absolutely here for this year’s finals – on one hand, you have this Celtics team that has looked like the best team in the East the whole tournament playing gritty basketball. On the other, you have this Warriors team that is playing like its on a mission. SOMETHING has to give! This is high drama featuring the best of the best. I’d say don’t bet against this Warriors team, as it feels like a bit of a team of destiny sort of deal, but the Celtics have played the most consistently great basketball so far. It’s going to be a good one….even though I am still mourning the way the Grizzlies’ season ended.
Question:
I have a question for it. Lately I’ve seen a lot of consecutive number sequences. But I’ve seen 333 to the point where it’s getting paranormal. Spirit # websites all say something different about it. What do you or anyone else think?
— Armchair Prude (@armchairprude) May 28, 2022
Answer:
If you’re reading this column on a regular basis, then you know that I simply do not turn down mailbag questions. I will answer just about anything, including curious phenomenon that border on paranormal. I fear nothing on the SoBros Mailbag. First of all, I’d say that I think this is how a lot of scary movies start, and maybe we should just pretend like it’s not happening. That’s what I did when I woke up in the middle of the night one night and saw someone who wasn’t supposed to be there sitting on the couch, and look at me – only minor trauma and mental distress compared to completely losing my mind.
In all seriousness, I’ve looked into this, and most of what I’m seeing is that ‘333’ is a good number…Google says stuff like “this is a good time to make a decision,” or angels are guiding you to something or other. This doesn’t sound like the bad kind of paranormal, but I am no expert. I have some friends that are into mysticism and stuff like this. I might have to reach out to them to see what they say. I’ve heard of this kind of stuff happening, but never had someone I know experience it. Pretty cool (hopefully).
Also, this might make for a fun episode of Phone It In.
Keep the questions coming – catch y’all next week!
