Since I’m going to be out of office for the week, getting married, and celebrating the occasion with friends and family who have traveled literally from coast to coast to be here in Nashville with us, I didn’t want to just leave you high and dry with no SoBros Network content in my absence. So, over the course of the next week, I’ll be looking at and re-running some of my favorite shows, videos, and articles we’ve produced. Today, we’re going to look at Phone It In.
The Best of Phone It In
If you haven’t heard me say it already, allow me to repeat myself – Phone It In is one of the most fun, interesting, and unique projects going on SoBros Network. At this point, we’re 32 episodes deep and counting, and Rooster and I just keep diving into random weird history topics and much more. It’s become one of my favorite things to do on SoBros Network, and I’m grateful that you guys have made it the second most downloaded podcast per episode for the brand. In this piece, I want to really dive into the vaults instead of just rehashing our most recent episodes. Let’s take this back a couple years.
Ep. 03: Dyatlov Pass – link – This was the EARLY early days of Phone It In, so bear with us as I’m sure we were still working out the kinks. But, the incident at Dyatlov Pass was so bizarre and so puzzling that it makes for a fascinating topic to dive into.
Ep. 06: Skinwalker Ranch – link – “Stoney and Rooster take a deep dive into the weird occurrences at the Sherman Ranch in Utah.” I still have nightmares thinking about the Skinwalker Ranch. At this point, there’s so much information on the internet about it that it’s easy to go down a nightmare-inducing rabbit hole after you listen to this episode.
Ep. 07: The Mothman – link – “Rooster and Stoney dive into the tale of the Point Pleasant Mothman, Men In Black, and more!” There’s a lot of meat on the bone with this one, but you’ll finally hear about the cryptid that has since become the official unofficial mascot of the SoBros Network.
Ep. 11: Typhoid Mary – link – “How fitting that Stoney and Rooster should dive into the story of Typhoid Mary in these odd times in the world.” This one was recorded back in the early days of the covid-19 outbreak, making it a relevant look at how a virus can spread quickly just from one person.
Ep. 14: The History of Gatlinburg, TN – link – “Stoney and Rooster completely bastardize the history of one of Tennessee’s greatest vacation towns settled in the Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg.” I think this might’ve been the most fun I’ve ever had on this show.
Ep. 20: Centralia, PA – link – “Rooster and Stoney dive into the history of the small Pennsylvania town that has been burning underground slowly for decades now.” I always have a lot of fun diving into topics I don’t know that much about, and this was a case of that. A town burning underground for decades? That doesn’t sound like real life.
