Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…

Question, from Tyler on Instagram:
Is Tennessee back?
Answer:
Yeah – yeah, I really do think so. In fact, and maybe this qualifies as a hot and spicy take, but I think they’ve looked like the best team in the SEC this season so far.
I think they’re going to win on Saturday – they check so many of the boxes. They can rush the passer, and Alabama’s likely going to be stuck with…I mean, Alabama’s likely going to play Jalen Milroe again, who took approximately two dozen sacks last week against Texas A&M. This Alabama offense has virtually no threat down the field, so if the Vols are able to move the ball and turn this thing into a shootout, Alabama isn’t equipped to keep up right now. The Tide has been turning the ball over like crazy, and just generally playing sloppy, penalty-laden football. Meanwhile, Hendon Hooker just isn’t throwing interceptions. The game is in Knoxville. They just have the mojo going for ’em right now.
Now, here’s where things get pretty exciting for Vols fans – if they can upset Alabama, it really kicks this season into an entirely different stratosphere. Georgia has shown a little vulnerability in its own right. Tennessee is perfectly capable of winning that game, too. Even if they don’t, but they get to the end of the season at 11-1, and Alabama wins the SEC, there’s the possibility that they could still get into the playoffs. What I’m saying is that if Tennessee wins this game, and I think they will, suddenly, they’re going to be talking SEC Championship and hell, maybe College Football Playoffs in Knoxville.
Question:
There are 15 undefeated college football teams. How many remain after Saturday?
— McCash (@MC_Cash75) October 13, 2022
Answer:
Well, we know there will at least be five because three of this week’s top 25 match-ups feature unbeaten vs. unbeaten, and UCLA and Ohio State both have a bye. I can’t wait for this college football weekend, by the way. It’s the biggest of the season! Ultimately, I’m going with 11 unbeatens remaining after this week. Here’s how I’m calling it:
- Alabama/Tennessee
- Penn State/Michigan
- Oklahoma State/TCU
- Ohio State (bye)
- UCLA (bye)
- Ole Miss over Auburn
- USC over Utah
- Clemson over Florida State
- James Madison over Georgia Southern (I’m all in on the “James Madison for the Cotton Bowl” campaign)
- Coastal Carolina over Old Dominion
I’ve got NC State upsetting Syracuse and ending their streak.
Question:
What’re your best dips or toppings for nachos? The more abstract the better
— Dom “Warm Beer” Oxenham-Morris (@doxom85) October 13, 2022
Answer:
I don’t get too crazy with my nachos, but I’ll tell ya the best nachos I’ve ever had were loaded with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, sliced jalapenos, and Cheez Whiz. It was the Cheez Whiz that was, albeit disgustingly unhealthy, the thing that really tied it all together.
