Hello, and welcome in to the latest edition of Yankee Candle Reviews here on SoBros Network. I will be your host – the Fragrance Aficionado of SoBros Network, also the EIC, Stoney Keeley. My passion for Yankee Candle began in 2006, when I strolled into the location in Providence Marketplace in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I picked up a jar of Autumn Woods, and found it captured the essence of the season perfectly. I’ve been hooked in this…well, you could even call it ‘romantic…’ relationship with Yankee Candle ever since. Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on one of Yankee Candle’s most iconic fragrances, Home Sweet Home.
My, oh my…how time flies. I can’t believe it’s been a year since our wedding, and since our good friends Brittany and Jesse dropped this gift off at our door. Talk about someone really getting you – they got us two large jars of Home Sweet Home with a photo of us from our wedding on the custom label. I’d always wondered how those custom labels would turn out, but I was always too gun shy to pull the trigger on them. Turns out, they’re a fantastic addition to any home setting. What a fantastic gift!
Now, as for Home Sweet Home itself…the scent…well, it’s a favorite, for sure. I don’t know that you’d necessarily call it a pillar of the Yankee Candle brand, but I’ll say this…I’ve never walked into a Yankee Candle store to discover that they don’t have this bad boy on the shelf somewhere. It feels like it’s always been in production, and that has to put it right up there with all of the most famous candles the brand has to offer. It’s a warm fragrance that I think plays best in the cooler months of the year – there’s plenty of cinnamon and spice in it, and that sort of naturally guides this one more towards the fall burning schedule than anything else. But, there’s a fresh undertow to it that makes it a player year-round. It’s no wonder that this scent has withstood the test of time for Yankee Candle. It’s an icon.
Recommended Burning: It’s a lazy Sunday…you have nothing to do…maybe there’s the slightest chill in the air, an early Autumn day or an early Spring day…the type of day that you can burn through by simply cozying up on the couch with a blanket draped over you. There’s a fire burning. You might have dinner in the crockpot. The cat is curled up at your feet. The light is hitting your Thomas Kinkade painting hanging in the living room just right. THAT is the time to burn Home Sweet Home. What? You thought I was going to say something grossly sexual like I usually do? Geez…have some respect for this fragrance!
