Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question, from McCash in Slack:
For the Maibag, if you could bitch slap one celebrity who would it be?
Answer:
This is tough. Gut reaction is Donald Trump, but that’s too easy. I’m going to go with Dana Carvey for making Master of Disguise.
Question:
How did you get your voice to be so silky smooth
— GrizzWizz ⚔️ (@GrizzWizz24) July 13, 2023
Answer:
First of all, thank you for the compliment. Second of all, I really have no idea. I drink a lot of warm beverages….coffee in the morning, tea at night sometimes. I guess it’s just a gift.
Question:
Would you rather have three parakeets or one rabbit
— Football & Other F Words (@FWordsPod) July 13, 2023
Answer:
To eat? One rabbit, definitely. To hang out with? I actually think I’m going with one rabbit then too. I grew up with rabbits and they’re pretty chill.
Question, from SavageGlass on Threads:
What is the most epic Titans game you’ve been to in person? Mine was the TNF game vs. the Jags where Henry ran for the 99 yards! Such an epic thing to see in person!
Answer:
That’s a hell of a game to see live! It wasn’t epic in favor of the Titans, but I remember being at LP Field for the Titans-Chargers OT in 2007 (I believe). The game when they hung with ’em until LaDainian Tomlinson got the ball in overtime and ended it. Those fucking Chargers.
Question, from McCash on Threads:
What’s more annoying: an itchy mosquito bite or a back itch that you can’t reach?
Answer:
As a guy with a broad back and short arms, it is 10000000% the back itch that you can’t reach. I can easily scratch a mosquito bite to the bone and then just sit with the sting just fine, thank you. But, if I can’t get to that itch on my back, it has me running all over the house to find a sharp edge to rub up against. I can’t stand it.
Question, from Ashley on Instagram:
What do you think about the controversy surrounding the movie Sound of Freedom?
Answer:
Damn, Ashley – we ain’t fuckin’ around on this week’s SoBros Mailbag, are we!?! People are asking me about parakeets and mosquito bites, but Ashley wants to dig into the heavy stuff! It’s a tough question. On the surface, I think this movie deserves its fair share of criticism. I don’t think it’s an indoctrination into QAnon the way some people do, but it’s more about the guy the story is based off of allegedly embellishing the whole thing to gain notoriety. And, yeah…the Jim Caviezel QAnon stuff is troubling to me as a man who looks at Q as a mark of genuine insanity. But, I also don’t really love the idea of the media saying “we don’t like this so we’re not going to show it to people” or “we don’t like this so we’re going to trash it” either. Now, I’m here for it with Sound of Freedom. I am actively participating in the bashing of this movie. But, this sort of stuff does expose the power the media has and it does make me squirm a little bit to think of the implications.
Personally, I don’t want to put money in the pockets of people that I know are probably con artists or that are out there spreading maniacal and hateful ideas. The counter to that would be “well, Stoney the CEO of Panda Express probably smothers baby deer in their sleep and you still eat Panda Express all the time.” But, the difference is that we don’t know the CEO of Panda Express engages in heinous behavior. I know that Jim Caviezel spoke at two QAnon conventions. I know this man this movie is about has some baggage, and that’s putting it lightly because I don’t want this to turn into a 2,000-word SoBros Mailbag. So, I can’t in good conscience support this movie knowing that. I don’t want to tell anyone else how to feel, and that’s the thing about this country…you’re entitled to believe whatever you want, as am I. But, in short, I think the controversy surrounding this movie does, as neutrally as I can put it, spark a larger conversation.
Question, from Mack on Instagram:
Why that hair lookin’ so voluptuous?
