Now that the holidays are over, it’s the darkest part of the calendar for many people. I kind of thrive when the days are short and I always feel down…at least until it’s early March and it’s still 40 degrees here in Nashville. Anyway, I know that a lot of you guys, myself included as well, struggle with the winter blues. Well, I’m here to tell you there is one movie that we just talked about on the most recent episode of Drinking With that will cheer you right up, and that’s Mystic River.
I am kidding. Holy shit, please none of you watch this movie thinking it’s going to be an uplifting experience. It is a harrowing film that is bleak as hell, but it yielded some of the greatest, most heart-wrenching performances of the last 21 years. That’s part of what gave it such a run during awards season, and it’s part of what makes it the perfect starting point for another season of Drinking With here on SoBros Network. Fire it up, sit nestled up cozy by the fire, and enjoy.
