Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, hit us with those mailbag questions @SoBrosNetwork on Twitter, email ’em to me anonymously at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com. And, holy shit, I need to update this terrible intro paragraph that I’ve been using literally ever since I started writing this column…
Question:
Is there a veteran QB that may be on the market next year you would want to pursue as the starter? I don't love this QB draft class and maybe a vet would be a better way to go.
— TwoTone BlueBlood (@2ToneBlueBlood) October 24, 2024
Answer:
I’m quite intrigued by this quarterback class. I don’t think it’s as bad as the 2022 class like some others are saying, but there is a definite lack of proven commodities here. Sam Darnold has played his way to the top of the free agent class, and he might’ve done well enough for himself to force a team to give up a big payday to acquire his services. I don’t know that the Titans would be in the market for him because of that. I’m intrigued by Drew Lock and Jarrett Stidham. Those are younger guys that may still have some upside. I’m out on Justin Fields because so much of this offense is predicated on making reads and throwing well-placed and well-timed balls. That seems to be something that he has struggled with. Here’s a name that could very well start a riot on Titans Twitter….but I wouldn’t be that upset if the Titans threw a cheap, short deal at Jimmy G. He has played his best ball in a timing-based short-game type of passing offense. I think he could be a decent and reliable enough stopgap if he stays healthy.
Question:
Have you been to Red headed stranger?? I went last year might go again. If you’ve been what are the best items ?
— Titan Travis (@Titantravis08) October 24, 2024
Answer:
I have not, but I actually drove by it not too long ago and was reminded that we need to go. Wife is really into it too. I hear great things.
Question:
Do you plan on doing a film study on this years QB class? If so can you give me a little tease breakdown of what you think so far?
— Titan Travis (@Titantravis08) October 24, 2024
Answer:
Oh yeah – I’ve already started some of the film work and have written about these guys, but haven’t put any clips together other than a couple of shorts on the SoBros YouTube account. I really like Shedeur Sanders – I feel like a lot of the attitude stuff is way overblown, and he’s the best pocket passer I’ve watched so far in this class. He has a couple of technical things that worry me…there’s a syrupy quality to his release on shorter throws, but the man clearly has a good feel for the pocket, and the fact that he still makes plays behind that subpar Colorado offensive line is impressive. I liked Carson Beck until that Alabama game. That raised questions about his propensity to throw to a predetermined spot for me. Everyone else has major question marks for me – can Quinn Ewers stay healthy? Can Jaxson Dart maintain consistency? Can you rein in the wild horse that Cam Ward is? I don’t know. I’m hoping to get around to Drew Allar, Garrett Nussmeier, and Riley Leonard soon.
Question:
In your estimation, what good things can the Titans take from the loss at Buffalo? And can be learned from?
— Ed Helinski 🇺🇸🇵🇱 (@MrEd315) October 24, 2024
Answer:
The passing game looks good to me, Ed. They have to start connecting on some of these plays down the field, but they are so close. Everything will be perfect and then the right tackle will get stuffed, the receiver will drop the ball, or the quarterback sails the ball over the receiver’s hands. It’s wild how many plays they left on the field. Patience and chemistry – that’s what it’s all about right now for me. Oh, and hey – the defense is playing pretty damn well right now.
Question:
Are you still #ManureForShedeur? Is there any chance you’d #GoToHeckForBeck?
— Tanking 101 (@blenny10) October 24, 2024
Answer:
100% #ManureForShedeur right now – it’s going to take quite a final month of the season for me to come back around on Beck.
Question:
With it being spooky season. As someone who does not like horror. How do you reccomend i comprise with my gf who loves watching horror movies.
— eddie (@wondernomma) October 24, 2024
Answer:
I’m with you, Eddie – I can’t watch a lot of horror. It raises my blood pressure and triggers that “fight or flight” instinct in me that makes me want to punch a hole in a wall. But, I still like watching movies that have major horror elements this time of year to feel festive – stuff like 2010’s version of The Wolfman, The Black Phone, The Lighthouse…etc. Those movies are a little tamer in the outright horror department. Maybe that’s an option!
Question:
Would you rather be Dadda Callahan Granddadda Callahan or Great Granddadda Callahan? My Dadda Easton is still stuck in the refrigerators mayo jar so I’ve became a fatherless child!
— Adam C (@AdamCon34019288) October 24, 2024
Answer:
oh no, child – we can’t be havin’ that. let’s send you to Granddadda Callahan so he can turn you into a big strong boy.
Keep the questions coming – catch y’all next week!
