As we continue to wind down for the year here on SoBros Network, I’m looking back on some of my favorite podcasts that we’ve done in 2025. Today, we’re headed over to the Nashville Movie Dispatch archives for a look at my favorite episodes of Movie Review Rewind this year!

The Best of Movie Review Rewind, 2025

Ep. 36: The Sting (1973) Apple Podcasts – Man, they just don’t make ’em like they used to. This was my first viewing of this film, and I found it to be good old fashioned fun that oozes charisma thanks to the performances of Paul Newman and Robert Redford. This is what real blockbusters used to look like.

Ep. 39: Night Shift (1982) Apple Podcasts – One of those interesting “moment in time” kind of movies that featured a young Michael Keaton showing off his comedy chops in the early days of his career. Henry Winkler took a swing in his role, and it’s wild to see Ron Howard’s roots as well. Everyone was having fun and this one gets points for a hell of a poster too.

Ep. 42: Shallow Hal (2001) Apple Podcasts – This episode has a very special meaning that’s near and dear to our hearts. Trust me, we weren’t excited to actually talk about this terrible movie.

Ep. 44: Rudy (1993)Apple Podcasts – Sometimes, it’s just more fun to hate on a movie than it is to love on it. I had never seen Rudy prior to watching it for this show, and let me tell you, those of you who call this a classic have been lying to me. This is little more than Disney-coded drivel that serves as propaganda for Notre Dame. Brandon and I called it out accordingly.

Ep. 47: Halloween (1978)Apple Podcasts – Our Buddy Brett joined us to kick off Spooky Season with a look back at a film that isn’t just one of the best horror movies of our time, but is just an all-around well-made movie that stands the test of time to this day.
