Usually, I’m out here pushing poetry from my Seasons series (which you can still totally go buy on Amazon), but today, I wanted to share something from a different project to celebrate the onset of another summer. I have no clue when this one will actually be done, but this one felt too perfect for this time of year not to share. Enjoy (hopefully)!
Summer Wish
Something about the onset of a new summer makes hope swell.
It’s walking outside and seeing the vibrant green rise from the grass up to the tree line,
Where it meets the crystal clear blue sky
Dotted only sparingly with a white fluffy cloud.
The Earth itself feels alive.
And, that makes me feel alive, too.
Thick air
Beads of sweat upon my brow
I think of the nearest body of water.
All the memories we’ll make there
This summer.
It’s carefree. It’s pure.
It’s a time of endless possibilities.
