Listen, y’all – I’m not here today to debate whether or not dudes are stupid. I happen to be a dude – have been for 34 years now. I know we’re stupid. I did plenty of stupid things over the course of my lifetime. I used to fucking backyard wrestle – one time, I thought it would be a good idea to “wrestle” on a trampoline in socks on a day when it was wet and muddy. Don’t ask me – I have no idea why we thought our shoes would destroy the trampoline, but we did.
Anyway, I tried to jump 20 feet off the trampoline, slipped, fell, and left about a two inch divot in the ground with my face. I also used to walk around at parties completely nude because I thought it was funny. So, you don’t have to tell me that dudes do some dumb shit, because I know. I’ve lived that life for a long time.
But, it’s seeing guys doing dumb things that is the source of great inspiration at times. Let’s take this clip, for instance:

Notice the tribal screaming – a signature trait of the dudes doing stupid things.
But, I absolutely love this as a concept. Using one of your buddies as a jump rope is efficiency at its finest. Why go out and spend money on a jump rope when you can just use your boy? Save your money. We can turn this into a team-building exercise. Get everyone involved.
The vision I have after seeing this goes far beyond stupidity and efficiency, though. I want a whole afternoon of activities like this – The Dude Olympics. Let’s pick some activities – human jump rope, maybe a bottle rocket fight (yeah, we used to do those too), a good old fashioned game of chicken, some roshambo. All afternoon, and the winner is declared King Dude.
You could even score this human jump in multiple ways – who’s the last man jumping? How long can your buddy swing another buddy around? How long can a dude be thrown around before his shoulders pop out of their sockets? The possibilities are endless.
I think what we did here today is ‘innovation.’ That’s the SoBros way.
