The 2020 NFL Draft is in the books now, so let’s run down the picks the Tennessee Titans made in ya boi’s annual Titans draft recap.

2020 Tennessee Titans Draft Recap

Round 1 (29): Isaiah Wilson – Wasn’t too keen on this pick the night of the first round, but after seeing how the draft shook down afterwards, I’ve warmed up to it incredibly. Isaiah The Giant is about to come in here and maul whoever lines up across him. I love him as a giant road-grading, run-blocking right tackle.

Round 2 (61): Kristian Fulton – What an absolute steal. I would’ve been fine with Fulton at #29, so to see him fall to #61 was euphoric. I love the game he plays – he’s fast and can run with anyone (just watch him match up with the ‘Bama receivers), but he’s underrated as a pure cover cornerback. He should be an immediate impact player, and addresses the team’s biggest need heading into this draft.

Round 3 (93): Darrynton Evans – Absolutely love the pick. People reacting as if this means bad news for Derrick Henry’s long-term deal are misguided. This guy is going to be a weapon on this Titans offense – he is the lightning to Henry’s thunder, and the Titans will aim to use him in different ways, including returning kicks/punts.

Round 5 (174): Larrell Murchison – I like the idea of a Simmons-Jones-Mack defensive line, but the Titans needed to add a body into the defensive line rotation. Murchison was a productive player at NC State – 12 TFL, and seven sacks. He lacks in lateral quickness, but this guy is a battler and a high-effort guy. Should be a good cultural fit on defense, and a guy that’ll see some action in the rotation. The Titans like this guy’s versatility.

Round 7 (224): Cole McDonald – The Titans needed a third quarterback. Specifically, a guy they could develop and see what they have a few years down the road -AND- a guy that could compete with Logan Woodside for the backup job. McDonald was a productive guy at Hawaii, throwing 70 touchdowns (69 of those in ’18 and ’19, #nice) to 24 picks. He’s also a SUPREME athlete at the quarterback position.

Round 7 (237): This was supposed to be the pick they got for Jurrell Casey. Instead, they traded it to the Kansas City Chiefs for their 6th round pick in 2021. If they keep doing this, they’ll have a first round pick by 2025.

Round 7 (243): Chris Jackson – Scrappy, competitive guy to add to the defensive backfield. Kinda surprised the Titans took a safety at all given the four they have, but I suppose you can never have enough defensive backs. I’m not gonna knock the pick – it’s #243, for crying out loud.

Overall Grade: A – Obviously, it’s going to take time to evaluate whether or not this class pans out, but I will say this – JRob and company checked all of the boxes in this draft (assuming they do sign Jadeveon Clowney), and they did it by selecting productive, athletic guys who fit the culture of this team. On paper in April, it certainly looks like it has home run class potential. Hard NOT to say this team got better this weekend.
